Newton Tilman Harling was a member of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in Greenville and had been married twice his first wife was Etta Grace West Harling and of this union the following children survive, six daughters, Mrs. Otis F. Mayson, Mrs. Bessie H. Rowan, Mrs. Fred L. Roper, Mrs. Fletcher Stone, Miss Irene Harling, Miss Mattie Jane Harling; three sons, Clyde Harling, James N. Harling, John W. Harling; one sister, Mrs. J.M. Stone; two brothers, D.W. Harling, P.B. Harling; his second wife, Mamie Wells Harling and six grandchildren. Services were held at Jones Mortuary on Sunday at 1 p.m. with internment in Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.
