It is with extreme sadness and sorrow having to announce our loss of such a wonderful daughter, sister, friend and truly great person.

Olivia Katherine Spolyar passed away on Monday, November 11, 2013. She was 17. Her positive influence shone on everyone she encountered and whose potential on this earth was endless. Our little angel is now with the Lord.

Olivia was born on April 7, 1996, the daughter of David James Spolyar and Jo Ellen Cochrane Spolyar (Lake Orion), sister of Sophia Spolyar (Lake Orion) and Sonny Spolyar (McAllen, Texas) and granddaughter of Donald and M.J. Spolyar (Cadillac). She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Larry and Marguerite Cochrane and Evelyn Spolyar.

Born in Pontiac, Mich., Olivia grew up in Lake Orion, attending Orion Oaks Elementary School, Scripps Middle School and Lake Orion High School. She participated in youth softball and soccer, later finding her passion in art and photography. Starting at age 12, she photographed numerous concerts from the photo pit at the Palace, DTE Music Theatre, Fox Theater and other local venues for Buzznet.com and two Warped Tours. She participated in various community and school activities such as People to People Student Ambassador — Europe 2011, The LEAGUE Michigan, National Honor Society, National Art Honor Society and Academic Service Learning, along with winning numerous arts and photography awards such as Gold and Silver Key Awards, Buzzi Award for Journalism and Photography and Best Concert Photography.

Olivia was excitedly looking forward to attend college this next fall, applying to Pratt University and Parsons School of Art in New York, Art Center College in Pasadena, Calif., and College for Creative Studies in Detroit. She augmented this desire by attending the CCS Pre-College Summer Experience, taking graphic design classes at Oakland Technical Center and the Drawing 1 class through Kendal College while attending Lake Orion High School.

Visitation will take place at Pixley Funeral Home, 3530 Auburn Road, Auburn Hills, Thursday, November 14, 2013, from 3 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church, 255 E. Scripps Road, Lake Orion, on Friday, November 15, 2013, at 11 a.m.

Interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Manton.
