Roger W. Daub, 84, of rural Center, North Dakota, died on Veterans Day, November 11, 2013, at Turtle Lake Community Memorial Hospital.

Roger was born March 29, 1929, at Fort Clark, North Dakota, to William and Mary (Kocourek) Daub. He was raised and educated in Ft. Clark, Senger and Mandan. Roger served in the U.S. Air Force as a tail gunner, and he was honorably discharged at the age of 16. Roger worked as Studebaker mechanic for Gillman's Automotive in Bismarck.

Roger and Gladys Jahner Schmidt were married on April 15, 1950, in Bismarck. Following their marriage, he worked on the Garrison Dam and in many states as a boilermaker.

Roger and Gladys settled on a farm west of Washburn in 1970. Roger worked in the area power plants, until retiring in the late 1980s. They continued to live west of Washburn until Gladys passed away in 2012.

Roger was a member of the Boilermakers Local 647. He enjoyed flying airplanes, hunting, fishing and restoring old cars.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gladys; and a sister, Karen Kellar.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, November 15, at Goetz Funeral Home, Washburn. Officiating was the Rev. Erik Johnson. Interment to be held at a later date at Daub Hill Cemetery.
