Bryan T. Clift, 49, of King George County passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2013.
He was born September 30, 1964 to Gene and Freda Clift of King George County. In 2002 he married Venus F. Clift, they resided in King George.
Bryan was a lifetime member of King George Volunteer Fire Department and of Trinity United Methodist Church. He was an employee of the Dahlgren Naval Station for 29 years, starting as a firefighter. He later moved to the Safety & Environmental Office and spent 3 years at the Naval Air Station in Bermuda. He was currently employed with Joint Warfare Analysis Center (JWAC).
Bryan was an avid hunter of waterfowl and deer. He also enjoyed fishing, crabbing, and boating.
He will be remembered as a dedicated husband, step father, son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend. Bryan was known for his generosity and giving nature. He was a man who knew no strangers and cared for all, was quick with a smile and possessed a fantastic sense of humor. He showed his courage and strength when he battled and survived cancer two years ago.
Bryan is survived by his loving wife of eleven years, Venus F. Clift; stepson Cole Pates-Clift; father Gene Clift; brother Bowie Clift and wife Marlene Clift; along with his sister Paula C. Nissey and her husband Paul; nieces Sarah Belcher and Cameron Eubank; nephew Joshua Eubank, along with his numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Bryan was preceded in death by his mother Freda C. Clift. He will be dearly missed by all those whose lives he touched.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, October 19, at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, King George.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sat. Oct. 20 in King George Middle School . The Reverend Howard Satterwhite and Louis Woolner will be officiating.
Burial will immediately follow in Trinity United Methodist cemetery, King George.
