Lois Sabee, age 95, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday afternoon, October 28, 2013. Lois was born in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, on February 9, 1918, daughter of the late Louis and Edith (Nilsson) Haugh. She attended high school in Madison as well as the University of Wisconsin, and on May 30, 1940 married Reinhardt Sabee. The couple lived in Appleton and Detroit for a time, but following World War II, they relocated to the Valley and Reinhardt took a job with Kimberly Clark. In 1948, he founded Circle Machine, which was to become R. Sabee Company, which is still operated by the family. Lois worked by his side in the family business for many years. Lois also loved to garden, play tennis, climb mountains, travel, and take classes at the local university.
Lois is survived by three children: Michael (Marian) Sabee of Neenah; Sherry (Dennis) Ahlman of Appleton; and Craig (Pam) Sabee of Winneconne; nine grandchildren: Penny Sabee, Pam (Brian) McAvoy, Dwight (Kristine) Sabee, Tony (Connie) Donovan, Maria (Dave) Harland, Christina (Nathan) Dintenfass, Eric (Elizabeth) Sabee, Ross Sabee, and Ryan Sabee; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; as well as many nieces and nephews. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Reinhardt in 2005, her grandson Joe Donovan in 2013, a brother Louis "Bud" (Beverly) Haugh, and a sister Carol (Laurier) Carriere.
The family will gather for a private service and entombment at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Neenah.
