WESLEY STEVAN STEFAN died Monday, June 16, 1997 at the age of 55. Wes was born February 9, 1942 in Assiniboia, Saskatchewan. He was the only child of Wesley C. and Barbara Stefan, and was predeceased by his parents.
Wes is survived by his wife, Shelagh, and his children; Sean, Rachel and Joshua all of Lethbridge, and Niyevo Stefan of Mission, B.C.
Wes received his early schooling in Moose Jaw and Medicine Hat before moving to Lethbridge. He graduated from the Lethbridge Collegiate Institute and then attended Lethbridge Junior College and the University of Alberta.
He was involved extensively in theatre, in Edmonton including professional acting and directing with Citadel Theatre, Walterdale Playhouse, Torches Theatre, the University of Alberta and CBC radio and television. He taught at Jasper Place Composite High School in Edmonton before moving to Lethbridge. He taught 23 years at Wilson Junior High School.
Wes was very active in the theatre community in Lethbridge, both in acting and in directing for Lethbridge Musical Theatre, Playgoers of Lethbridge, Allied Arts Council and Centre Stage Productions.
Wes touched many lives in the community through his teaching and his acting.
