Lois Simmons, 67, McDonald, Tenn.


Lois Jeanette Brock Simmons of McDonald, Tenn., died Friday, June 11, at a local hospital. She was 67.

A lifelong resident of the north Georgia and Chattanooga area, she was a former employee of Dempsey Nursing Home where she worked for 35 years. She was a member of Friendship Primitive Baptist Church South in Tunnel Hill.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Clyde Simmons; parents, Clifford Odell and Leah Peters Brock; brother, Joseph Brock.

Survivors include her sisters, Gladys Walker of Pensacola, Fla., Betty Hydas of Chattanooga, Tenn., Beatrice Roberson of Fort Oglethorpe, Edna Ogle of Rowlett, Texas, Nancy Sawyer of McDonald, Odessa Owen of Chattanooga; brothers, Clifford Odell Brock Jr. of Murfreesboro, Tenn., James Brock of LaFayette, Randy Brock of Cleveland, Tenn., Mel Brock of Nashville, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews.

Services: Sunday, June 13, at 2 p.m. in the Wallis-Stewart Chapel of Wilson Funeral Home with Eddie Flick, Joseph Hayes and Wayne Peters officiating. Burial: Anderson Cemetery. Visitation: Saturday, June 12, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and until service time Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or to the Samaritan Center in Ooltewah, Tenn.
