Steve "POP" Boyte, age 62, a native of Oak Grove, Louisiana and a resident of Houma, Louisiana died Thursday, October 24, 2013.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday, October 27th, at Falgout Funeral Home, 211 Westside Blvd., Houma, Louisiana and on Monday, October 28, 2013 at Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop, Louisiana from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 29th, at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery of Bastrop.

Mr. Boyte was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the United States Marine Corps.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Silva Best Boyte; father, C.W. Hackworth; two sons, Shane Boyte and wife Sarah and Gene Boyte and wife Angel; three daughters, Susan Worley and husband Richard, LaRhondia Garrett and husband Gary, and Amy Hamilton. He is also survived by his five brothers, William Boyte, Dean Boyte, Allen Boyte, Bobby Dale Easom and William Charles "Chuck" Easom, Jr.; three sisters, Joyce Marie Boyte, Sharon Gayle Brown, Vickie Ratcliff and foster family; thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Steve is preceded in death by his father Dillard Boyte and his mother, Lavada Kersh Boyte Hackworth; two sons, Steven Boyte and Stacy Boyte; three grandchildren, Zane Boyte, Dalton Boyte, and Alexis Michelle Boyte; and three brothers, Marcus Wayne Easom, Johnny Mack Boyte, and Jim Easom.
