Dr. Geno M Vescovi, age 83, passed on October 23, 2013.
Geno was born on September 18, 1930 in Albuquerque New Mexico. Geno is preceded in his passing by his wife and life long companion of 54 years, Margaret Lawanna Vescovi.
Geno is survived by his five children, Tim Vescovi, Lize Vescovi, Michael Vescovi, Lee Russell and Gena Vescovi-Russell and the baby, Peter Vescovi and eight grandchildren, Annalisa, Ty, Heath, Gia, Virginia, Laura, Becky and Karen.
Geno was a PHD, graduating from Gallaudet University, and The University of Arizona where he got his doctorate in philosophy. His accomplishments are acknowledged and valued by his remaining family but are still overshadowed by his immense humility and superb wisdom. We owe a great debt to his brilliance. Geno was a teacher, a student, a father and a leader. Geno gave our family strength and immaculate leadership. Geno will be missed in his passing and honored in his legend.
"It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood, who strives valiantly, who errs, who comes short again, because there is no effort without error and shortcomings; but who does actually strive to do the deeds, who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions, who spends himself in a worthy cause, who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievements, and who at the worst, if he fails at least fails while daring greatly".
His life was celebrated amidst friends and family at the home of Lee Russell and his wife, Gena Vescovi, on Saturday, October 26, 2013.
