Predeceased by her parents Clinton Albert and Irene (Toms) Draper, two brothers Frank and Elder Draper; one sister, Mary Draper; her husband of 71 years, August Anderson; two daughters; Loise Summers and Vi Davis; one son-n-law, Loren Kolke; and two grandchildren in infancy.
Emeline leaves to mourn, her daughter Lorraine Kolke of Midale; sons-in-law: Don Davis and Luke Summers.
Grandchildren: John (Lynn) Summers, Wayne Summers, Tim Summers, Sheryl (Steve) Greer, Joyce (Raymond) Carlson, Donna (Tom) Lea, Patty (Ron) Evans, Ordean (Tara) Kolke, Troy Davis and Colin (Aletha) Davis; 18 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous very special nieces and nephews.
Emeline Arlene Anderson was born August 29, 1903 in Lenox,Iowa, USA. She moved with her parents to Midale in 1916, and met and married August Anderson in 1924 in Estevan. She worked in a cookcar for Sawyers threshing crew and was a homemaker and did baby sitting. She lived in Midale for 87 years. Emeline taught Sunday School in the Baptist Church and was very active in the Church of God, belonging to the ladies Bible Studies and serving as secretary-treasure. Emeline enjoyed gardening, playing scrabble and lawn bowling. Her two favorite t.v. programs were Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. She enjoyed socializing and attended any church functions she could. Emeline went camping for the first time on her 98th birthday at Greenwater Lake, then she went camping in Cypress on her 99th birthday. In may she traveled to Taber, Alberta for her great grandchild's graduation. She valued the visits, calls and letters from friends and family. She considered homecare and staff at Mainprize Manor her extended family and was "Grandma"to many.
Grandma was hard-working, loved humor, and could lift your spirits when you were having a bad day. Family was very important to her and she always put them first. Grandma was a gem!
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 19 at 10:00 a.m. from Bethleham Lutheran Church, Midale, with Pastor Cicely McDougall officiating. Prayers were held Friday, July 18, from Hastings-Dionne Funeral Home in Weyburn. Interment was in Green Acres Memorial Gardens in Weyburn.
All those in attendance were considered to be honorary pallbearers. The active pallbearers were: John Summers, Troy Davis, Collin Davis, Ordean Kolke, Daryl Carlson and Dave Neilly.
