HIGH POINT The Rev. DeWitt Frederick Helm, 99, of the Presbyterian Home died Saturday, Sept. 14, 2002.

The Memorial Service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2002, at Presbyterian Home Chapel by Dr. Neil Bain. Interment will be in Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery.

The Rev. Helm was born Oct. 28, 1902, in Pikeville, the son of Frederick Ellsworth Helm and Penelope Pate Helm. He was a graduate of Davidson College in 1929 and Union Theological Seminary in Divinity, Richmond Va in 1932. He was ordained Presbyterian Minster in 1932. He served Churches in Ashe County, Thomasville, Rabun County, Ga., Hot Springs, Va., Culpeper, Va. and Knoxville, Tenn. His last full time church was his home church in Kenly. After retiring he lived in Wilson from which he supplied 15 churches in Wilson and Rocky Mount area. He came to Presbyterian Home in 1982. On May 24, 1932, he married Blanche DeBusk and she preceded him in death on May 16, 1994.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Blanche Nichols of Jacksonville; one son, DeWitt F. Helm Jr of New York, N.Y.; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2002, at Presbyterian Home Chapel, by Dr. Neil Bain. Interment will be in Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday night at Sechrest Funeral Home on East Lexington Ave. 3 / 8
