A private, family graveside service for S. Wayne Weatherby of Bellingham will be held Friday in Greenacres Memorial Park near Ferndale, with the Rev. Jay DeFolco officiating.

Mr. Weatherby died on Sunday, June 10, 2001, in Bellingham. He was 72.

Born July 26, 1928, to Sterling and Nellie (Johnson) Weatherby in Seattle, he lived the rest of his life in Bellingham.

On Sept. 16, 1950, he married Dolores Dauphiny.

Mr. Weatherby owned and operated Weatherby's Auto Body and later worked as an instructor and administrator at Bellingham Vo Tech Institute, now Bellingham Technical College.

He enjoyed fishing, flower gardening, watching sports - especially boxing - and raising Airedale dogs.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, Washington Affiliate, 4414 Woodland Park Ave. N., Seattle, WA 98103, or a charity of choice.
