Regis J. Wolbert Sr., 80, of Route 66, Lucinda, died Wednesday morning, Aug. 4, 2004, at Beverly Healthcare-Shippenville after a brief illness. Born Oct. 18, 1923, in Lucinda, he was a son of the late Edward F. Wolbert Sr. and Genevieve Schupp Wolbert. Mr. Wolbert attended St. Joseph School in Lucinda. He served with the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theatre. He retired from Commodore Homes in 1980. He was a member of St. Joseph Church in Lucinda. Mr. Wolbert enjoyed wood refinishing, hunting, baseball, dogs and spending time with his grandchildren. He was married June 5, 1954, at St. Mary Church in Crown to the former Marjorie "Marge" Glosser, who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Regis "Chip" Wolbert Jr. and his wife, Edna, of Knox, Gerald "Jerry" Wolbert and his wife, Gretchen McCord Wolbert, of Shippenville, and Dana Wolbert and his friend, Amy Shoup, of Lucinda; and a daughter, Teresa "Terry" Walsh and her husband, Lawrence "Larry," of Greensburg, Ky. Survivors also include a brother, Dennis Wolbert of Redlands, Calif.; a sister, Grace Troese and her husband, Nick, of Clarion; and 13 grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Wolbert was preceded in death by a son, Eric Wolbert; seven brothers, Edward, Quentin, Leander, Norman, Howard, Earl and Gerald Wolbert; two sisters, Virginia Wolbert and Marion Hepfl; and a grandson, David Alan Wolbert. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the Borland Funeral Home, Leeper. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph Church, Lucinda, with the Rev. Joseph Czarkowski, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
