Micajah Byrd was an "Old Three Hundred" settler granted a League of Land by the Mexican Nation on July 16, 1824.  He and his wife Hannah Bradbury and their two year old son were in Stephen F. Austin's Colony by February 1823.

Micajah Byrd was probably born in Fairfield County, South Carolina about 1788.  He was the son of Michael K. Byrd and Margaret Miller who settled in Upper Louisiana (now present day Missouri) by 1805.

In addition to the son (name and fate unknown) the Byrds had four daughters.
