Harold A. Kauffman, 78 of East Fallowfield, passed away at his home on Friday, September 29, 2006.
He was the husband of the late Mary E. "Maribeth" Edwards Kauffman who passed away on August 30, 2005.
He was born in Quarryville, son of the late Frank H. and Lillie E. Long Kauffman.
He was a member of Faith Bible Chapel of Cochranville. In the past, he was a member of Jennersville Church of the Brethren where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and Lay Speaker. He worked as a Equipment Superintendent for A. Shuttle and Company of Glenside, Pa. He was past president of the Local Union for District 50 - United Steel Workers. Past President of the Atlantic North Eastern Mens Fellowship of the Church of the Brethren. Harold enjoyed crafts, birds, and watching baseball.
Surviving are four children: Jane Kauffman of Harrington, Del., Gary, husband of Maryann Rovka Kauffman, with whom he resided, Brenda, wife of Ernest Post, of Winter Garden, Fla., Keith, husband of Tammy Burns Kauffman, of Thorndale; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three siblings: Betty Schroeder, Jean, wife of Charles Grinestaff, both of Jennersville, and John, husband of Kathryn Franklin Kauffman, of Gap.
He was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter: Rebecca Rylee; and two brothers: Robert L. and Frank H. Kauffman, Jr.
Funeral service will take place at the Shivery Funeral Home, 111 Elizabeth Street, Christiana, PA on Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at 11 a.m. with a viewing from 10 a.m. until time of service, Pastor Scott Althouse will be officiating. There will also be a viewing at the funeral home on Monday evening from 7 to 9 p.m.
