Kenneth E. Black, 94, of Joplin, Missouri, formerly of Pittsburg, Kansas, passed away at 11:10 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, 2005, at a local health care center after a lengthy illness.
Kenneth was born in Leavenworth, Kansas to Joseph and Mary Ann Parker Black.
He had lived in Joplin for the past 10 years, moving there from Pittsburg, where he had spent most of his life.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He married Alice Louise Nickell. She preceded him in death.
Surviving are his children:
Clyde and David Black, both of Joplin, Mo.
Mary Ann Black and Judy Henson, both of Joplin, Mo.
Frances Fenoglio of Pittsburg, Ks.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Joe Black and Clarence Black.
He had 13 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
The body will be cremated.
Private interment will be in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.

JOPLIN - Kenneth E. Black, 94, Joplin, formerly of Pittsburg, died at 11:10 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, 2005, at a local health care center after a long illness.
He was born Dec. 27, 1910, in Leavenworth, the son of the Joseph and Mary Ann Parker Black.
He had lived in Joplin for the past 10 years, moving there from Pittsburg, where he spent most of his life.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include two sons, Clyde Black and David Black, both of Joplin; three daughters, Mary Black and Judy Henson, both of Joplin, and Frances Fenoglio of Pittsburg; 13 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Joe Black and Clarence Black.
The body will be cremated under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 3, at New Life Baptist Church, Franklin.
Private interment will be at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.
