OBIT:
Chester M. Rugg, recently bookkeeper at Makaweli plantation, died at the home of his brother, George Rugg, yesterday afternoon. Chester Rugg came to the islands three or four years ago and was employed in Honolulu for a year or more. He was assistant bookkeeper in the Bulletin office until he went to Kauai. Taking a secondary position at Makaweli, he rapidly worked his way up to the position of head bookkeeper.
About a year ago he was married to a young lady who came to Honolulu to meet him. Close application to his work broke Mr. Rugg's health and finally brought him to Honolulu for medical treatment. He returned to his work but a few weeks ago was obligated to give up and came to Honolulu with his wife, planning to go to the coast, for recuperation. Yesterday he suffered a collapse and quickly succumbed. An aged mother, wife and brother remain to mourn their loss.
