EDGAR F. ADELSBERGER JR.

Edgar F. Adelsberger Jr., 79, of Marysville died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000,at Heartland of Marysville. He was retired from the Scott Company. He operated a welding repair and service business for many years on his farm and after his retirement from Scotts was employed as a parts service man with Bob Chapman Ford. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church the Knights of Columbus and Scotts 20-year Club. He was a square dance caller with the String-a-Lings Band and retired from calling dances at the age of 78, having done so for 60 years. He could be seen many nights at the Old Town Inn with his wife, helping and visiting with the patrons.

In recent years, he was known as a hog roaster, preparing meats for events around the county. He was an avid Ohio State fan and enjoyed his family summer vacations in Myrtle Beach and Renfro Valley in Kentucky.

He was born April 10, 1920, in London, Ohio, to the late Edgar F. andLoretta Fath Adelsberger Sr. and was predeceased by a brother, Robert Adelsberger.

He is survived by his wife, Bernice Rausch Adelsberger whom he married Feb. 23, 1946, at Our Lady of Lourdes; a daughter, Patricia S. (Joseph) Szuszkiewicz of Loveland; two sons, Daniel L. (Judy) Adelsberger and David E. (Cathy) Adelsberger of Marysville; grandchildren, Adam and Kathy Szuszkiewicz of Loveland, Brian (Beth) Adelsberger, Jason (Sheila) Adelsberger, Joel Schwartz and Justin Adelsberger of Marysville; and Kelly (Sabrina) Schwartz of Hilliard; great-grandchildren, Ashley and Amber Adelsberger and Sarah Schwartz Wietelman; three sisters, Martha (Art) Edelblute of Ostrander, Lucille (Leonard) Herr of Wooster and Margaret A. McKitrick of Marysville; a brother, Tom (Mary Alice) Adelsberger of
Danville; three sisters-in-law, Peggy Adelsberger of Athens and Irene Griffin and Emma Louise Cunningham of Marysville; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. The Rev. Barry Bentz will officiate and burial will be at the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Ingram Funeral Home.

Pall bearers will be Adam Szuszkiewicz, Joseph Szuszkiewicz, Justin Adelsberger, Kelly Schwartz, Joel Schwartz, Matthew Cunningham and Lundy Adelsberger. Honorary pall bearers will be Jack Holton, Jim Hurst, Ray Huey, Marvin Twigg and Robert Lowry.

Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home.
