Anchorage resident Thomas Leong, 78, died March 27, 2005, at Providence Extended Care Center.
A private service was held at Evergreen Memorial Chapel with burial at Fort Richardson National Cemetery.
Mr. Leong was born Sept. 28, 1926, in Canton, China, and had been a resident of Alaska since 1964.
He served in the U.S. Army from November 1946 to April 1948 and was awarded the World War II Victory Medal. He later worked in the civil service at Fort Richardson until his retirement.
Mr. Leong enjoyed wildlife and nature.
Survivors include his wife, Gabriella Leong; two daughters; two sons; and three granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his first wife.
