Midcoast in 1952, and settled in
Long Cove Road, St. George. He lived
there many years with his wife,
Marion Nash Collins, and son
Daniel E. Collins Jr.
He attended St. George Baptist
Church over 30 years. He worked
for the Port Clyde Canning Company
until he was 83, and moved to
Waldoboro to live with his son in
1991.
Mr. Collins loved tinkering with
motors in his shed, and loved baseball.
Last month of his life he celebrated his
96th birthday, surrounded by family
and friends.
He was born in Eastport July 28,
1900, to James and Lenora
Matthews Collins. He attended
Eastport schools.
Surviving are his wife of 53
years, of Waldoboro; three sons,
Daniel Jr. of Waldoboro, Albert
Lank of Plantsville, Conn., and
Donald Lank of Portland; daughter
Lavina Goodwin of Southington,
Conn.; 20 grandchildren; 29 greatgrandchildren;
and three greatgreat-
grandchildren.
