Rubye "Paulette" Crownover Hargis, age 64, an Atoka, OK, resident, was born on Tuesday, March 22, 1949, to Chester & Beatrice Eileen (Foster) Crownover, In Oklahoma City, OK. Paulette passed away on Monday, September 30, 2013, in Atoka, OK.

Paulette graduated from Weatherford High School in Weatherford, OK, in 1967, and then, she attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, OK where she received a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education. Paulette worked as a social worker for the Oklahoma Department of Human Services and also served as an EMT for several years in Atoka County. She was also a long time volunteer for the American Red Cross. Paulette was a member of Cornerstone Church.

Paulette enjoyed watching sports, especially cheering on the OU Sooners & Southwestern Lady Bulldogs. She dearly loved children and animals, and helped with many rescues of pets. Paulette also loved acting in community theatre and she loved playing her guitar.

Paulette loved her friends & was always a Forever Friend! Two special high school friends, Mary & Dianne, met with her regularly to be on the sidelines at many OU games. Paulette loved her Sooners & these reunions at OU football games were the best times of her life.

Paulette was the "right hand" of a high school & lifelong friend when they united after the Moore, OK, & other OK tornados on May 19, 20 & 31,2013, to help hundreds of lost pets to find their way home. They headed up the OK group that spent countless hours working on Facebook and the Internet to get these pets back to their real owners! Paulette said it was one of the "finest times of our lives & friendship!" It was indeed! N.D.A.R.R.T., a nation wide non-profit animal reunification group went on to organize for pet & animal rescue after the 2013, OK storms. Had Paulette lived, she'd been on the Board of Founding Directors, as she helped her friend, Linda, first come up with the dream idea of this non-profit group!

Paulette is survived by her sister, Janet Girad, and her husband, LeRoy, of ElReno, OK; niece, Kelly Base and husband, Darren, of Geary, OK; and her beloved & cherished great niece, Brooke Base, of Geary, OK. Paulette is preceeded in death by her parents, "Chet" & Eileen Crownover, also buried at Greenwood Cemetery, Weatherford, OK.
