George A. Peebler

George A. Peebler, 81, died Monday night in the Extended Care Unit of North Valley Hospital, Whitefish.

George was a retired Eastern Montana farmer.

Mr. Peebler was born Nov. 29, 1895 in Meecham, Ore. and attended schools in Pendleton. He later attended business college in Walla Walla, Wash.

George moved to Rudyard in 1924 and was married Nov. 17 of that year to Anna Lambott in Havre. He farmed most of his adult life, retiring 12 years ago. The couple moved to Kalispell in 1944 and had lived here since that time.

Surviving, besides his widow at home, are his son, Larry, Rudyard; four daughters, Mrs. Duaine (Ruby) Langel, Chester, Mrs. Sydney (Sharon) Torgerson, Kalispell, Mrs. Warren (Marjorie) Williams, Kalispell, and Mrs. William (Betty) DeShazer, Libby; his brother, Bill, living in Eastern Washington; two sisters, Mrs. Ted (Peggy) Decker, Phoenix, Ariz. and Mrs. Ruth Suddeth, Monument, Ore.; his step-sister, Mrs. Katherine Leuer, Santa Barbara, Calif.; and 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the Weatherford Funeral Home with Mr. Harold Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in Glacier Memorial Gardens.

The family suggests memorials to the Extended Care Unit of North Valley Hospital in Whitefish.
