IOWA MAJOR KILLED IN VIET

FORT DODGE, IA - Maj. Leslie D. Crouse, 36, was killed in action in Vietnam fighting Saturday, his mother, Mrs. Arthur Kallansrud, of Fort Dodge, was informed Monday. She said he was killed when a mortar shell exploded in his barracks.

Besides his mother, survivors include his wife, Mary, living at Anchorage; three sons: John, 17; DeWayne, 13; and William, 11; a daughter, Marjorie, 15; a brother, Charles Crouse of West Plains, MO; a sister, Mrs. Sy (Marjorie) Berg of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; and two half-brothers, Airman Arthur Kallansrud, stationed at Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul, Ill., and Earl Kallansrud, 16, at home with his mother.
