Herman Ray Prather, 85, of Cairo, passed away Thursday, February 21, 2013, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO.Herman was born December 13, 1927, to Finis and Lareen Stuck Prather in Moberly, MO.He graduated from Cairo School and spent his entire life in the Cairo area. On December 28, 1949, he married Myrtle Davidson and she survives of the home.He was a trucker by occupation but in his spare time he enjoyed gardening, farming, hunting and fishing. A favorite pastime was watching wrestling and he loved coffee and pie!Those preceding him in death are his parents; a sister, Hertha Mitchell; and two great-grandchildren.In addition to his wife Myrtle, he is survived by his four children, Billy and Glenda Prather, Bobby and Connie Prather, Larry and Delina Prather, Glenda and John Taylor all of Cairo; 15 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.Services will be Thursday, February 28, 2013, at 2:00 p.m., at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home in Moberly with interment at Mt. Salem Cemetery north of Jacksonville. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 27, 2013, from 5:00-7:00 p.m., at the funeral home.Memorial contributions would be appreciated to Northeast Randolph R-IV School District, 301 West Martin St., Cairo, MO 65239.Pathway Memorial Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
