Helen Johnson Hazelgren 1912 ~ 2004 Helen Gladys Johnson Hazelgren, age 91, returned to her Father in Heaven on Sunday, May 30, 2004 in Salt Lake City. UT. Helen was born December 2, 1912 in Anaconda, Montana the daughter Carl and Signe Nordberg Johnson. On December 31, 1931 she married Hyrum Oliver Hazelgren in Bountiful, Utah. Her life was dedicated to helping and caring for others and she always encouraged those around her to excel in all that they did. Her family was always the most important part of her life. Helen was an excellent cook. Along with her husband, they owned and operated the Pine Cone Barbeque and Service Station in Haines, Oregon. Helen worked for United Airlines and was a cook at the Hotel Utah and Alta Club, and was the night manager at the Lion House. She was also an accomplished bowler and loved to teach others to bowl. Helen and her husband managed the Rocket Bowl in Brigham City and the Ben Lomond Lanes in Ogden. Helen is survived by her two children, Gary Hazelgren (wife Pauline), St. George, UT, Sandra Jensen (husband Stanley), Salt Lake City, UT; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lester and Monte, one sister, Uteva; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, parents, and one brother Mel who died serving in the military in World War II. Funeral services will be held on Thursday June 3, 2004, 11:00 a.m. at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 S. 2300 E., where friends may call Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and on Thurs. morning for one hour prior to the services. Interment: Wasatch Lawn. Funeral Directors: Holbrook Mortuary.
