Casper -- Services for Faye E. Hale, 101, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bustard Funeral Home by the Rev. Frank Hoover of the First United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery.
Mrs. Hale died Dec. 25, 1996, at the Neligh Nursing Center, Neligh, Neb. She was the last surviving child in her family of 10 children.
Mrs. Hale was born Aug. 11, 1895, in Meadow Grove, Neb., the daughter of George and Virginia (Steffey) Wright. She attended grade school in Battle Creek, Neb., graduating from high school there in 1914. After high school, she graduated from Wayne State, and then taught school for two years in Madison county and one year in Antelope County, Neb.
On June 14, 1919, she married Lumby H. Hale in Meadow Grove. Following their marriage, they moved to Lance Creek, where Mr. Hale was employed in the oil fields. A short time later, they moved to Glenrock, where he worked at the Big Muddy Field.
While in Glenrock, Mrs. Hale taught Sunday School and played piano for Sunday services. In 1921, they moved to their homestead on Boxelder, where they began ranching. Until May 1988, she continuously lived on the ranch.
Mrs. Hale was a member of the Methodist Church, the Wyoming Pioneer Association and the A.A.R.P.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1968; and nine brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her daughters, Karen Phillips and Jacquie Carter; a son-in-law; two granddaughters and a grandson, all of Casper; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Flowers or contributions to the Casper Humane Society or the Glenrock Senior Center would be appreciated by the family.
