HARRY J. DORNBUSCH DIES AT NURSING HOME
Henry J. Dornbusch, 70, a Pueblo resident for 49 years, died at Pueblo Manor Nursing Home Sunday after three months of illness. Dornbusch was a retired masonry contractor, founder and owner of Dornbusch & Hill Construction Co. He was birn at La Salle, Ill., March 21 1895, and came to Pueblo in 1916. The following year he joined the second group of selective service men to leave Pueblo for duty in World War I. He advanced from private to Master sergeant in 31/2 years. He worked as a brick layer for Colorado Fuel & Iron Corp. after the war until December 1941. He rejoined the service as a private, saw action in the European Theater and was discharged after the war as a major. He also received the bronze star medal. Dornbusch was a member of Shrine of St. Therese Parish was a reserve officer U.S. Army, retired ., a member of Nocturnal Adoration Society, Holy Name Society, Serra Club, Pueblo Elks Lodge 90, past president of Allied Contractors Association and a member of Union Welfare Board. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Nora E. Dornbusch, a daughter, Mrs. M. Lorraine Hill, Pueblo, and a sister Mrs. Angie O'Connell, Peru, Ill. Funeral arrangements will be announced by T. G. Henry J. Dornbusch prominent lingtime Pueblo resident, passed away Pueblo Manor Nursing Home Nov. 14, following three month illness. Mr. Dornbusch was a retired masonry contractor, having been founder and owner of Dornbusch and Hill Construction Co. Veteran U.S. Army World War I and World War II. Mr. Dornbusch was awarded the bronze star medal for his service in World War II and at the time of his death held the rank of Major retired. Member Shrine of St. Therese Church, reserve officer U.S. Army, Nocturnal Adoration Society, Holy Name Society, Serra Club. BPO Elks Lodge 90, past president of Allied Contractors Association and member of Union Welfare Board. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Nora E. Dornbusch of the family home, 215 Goodnight Ave. one daughter Mrs. M. Lorraine Hill, Pueblo, two grandsons, Pueblo, his niece Mrs. Betty Valenta, Denver, one sister Mrs. Angie O'Connell, Peru.
