OCEANA ­ Noma Mae Lusk-Cook, 87, died Wednesday, September 1, 1999, at a Beckley hospital following a short illness.

Born March 18, 1912, at Cyclone, she was the daughter of the late William Edward Lusk (1874-1958) and Ida Bailey-Lusk (1874-1948). Mrs. Cook was a homemaker and a member of the Toneda Baptist Church of Oceana and the ABW of Toneda Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Roscoe "Red" Cook (1908-1969) whom she married on September 3, 1938 in Cyclone, Wyoming County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Wyoming County, WV, Page 453, 1938, Application Date: August 26, 1938); three brothers, McKenley Lusk (Deceased), Earnel Hayes Lusk (1914-1978), and Arlie L. Lusk (1909-1990); and seven sisters, Lunda Lusk (Deceased), Ella B. Lusk-Lusk (1905-1986), Gracie Pearl Lusk (1907-Deceased), and Zada B. Lusk (1917-Deceased), Bessie Ann Lusk-Toler (1898-1943), Bertha M. Lusk-Daniels (1897-1972), and Lettie Lusk-Paynter-Toler (1904-Deceased). She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Survivors include a son, Raymond R. Cook and his wife, Janice Cook, of Burke, VA; a daughter, Delores Cook-Blair and her husband, Sam Blair, of Sanford, NC; three grandsons, Billy Blair and his wife Malene Blair of Sanford, NC, Timothy Cook and his wife Alina Cook of Annandale, VA, and Greg Cook and his wife Jennifer Cook of Centreville, VA; four great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; and a special niece, Zelma Workman of Cyclone.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Toneda Baptist Church, Oceana, with the Rev. Dwight Stafford officiating. Burial will follow in Kopperston Community Cemetery.
