FINAL RITES READ FOR MISS JOSEPHINE ABBEY AT MACY'S CHAPEL
Final rites for Mary Josephine Abbey, 87, who died at a McMinnville hospital last Friday were held at Macy's chapel Monday afternoon with interment at Evergreen Memorial Park. Rev. Griffith of Willamina officiated.
She is survived by three sons, Homer R. New and Jefferson S. New, both of Portland and William R. New of Salem. Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. R.J. Flemming and Mrs. W.P. Easter both of Portland, Mrs. Bertha Kellon of Hebo and Mrs. C.A. Brewer of Willamina.
She had been a resident of Lafayette for the last five years and was married to Stephen New in 1870 and to David J. Abbey in 1911. She was born in Springfield, Ill., in February of 1855.
