Russell Grant Davidson, 76, of Stafford, passed away Sept. 8, 2005, at Mary Washington Hospital. He was the husband of Nancy C. Davidson. Mr. Davidson joined the U.S. Marines in 1945, where he served in World War II, Korean, and Vietnam, until his retirement in 1969 as a Master Sergeant. He went to work for Sierra Pacific Power Company in Reno, NV, as an environmental engineer. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Dale City. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Gail Davidson; two sons, Timothy M. Davidson and Russell J. Davidson; and a daughter, Janet L. Davidson. Along with his wife, Nancy, he is survived by a son, Dennis A. Davidson, Intelligence Specialist 1st Class U.S. Navy; a sister, Lois Felson; and an extended family including his step-children and step-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 13, at Quantico National Cemetery. Full military honors will be provided by the U.S. Marines. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Services, Stafford Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Special Olympics, 1133 19th St., N.W. Washington, DC 20036.
