Born in Campbell County, he was a son of the late Richard Marvin Mayberry and Rachel Hendricks Mayberry. He was a retired farmer and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He is survived by a brother, Earl Lawson Mayberry, Lynchburg and three nieces, Norma P. Lawhorn, Rustburg, Linda M. Richardson, Evington and Tammy M. Massie, Lynchburg.
Graveside services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday in Fort Hill Memorial Park by the Rev. Roy E. Martin.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Whitten Park Avenue Chapel.
