Elwood Elton Dumas, 86, of Crossett died Saturday, December 11, 1999, at the Ashley County Medical Center. Born January 15, 1913, to Zacairah Dillard "Buck" and Ella Magnolia Powell Dumas in Huttig, he was a farmer in his early years and then worked as a stencilman in the Number 1 finishing room for Georgia Pacific and was a member of the Providence Baptist Church in Point, LA. Survivors are his wife, Mae Ouchley Dumas of Crossett; one son, Elton Dumas of Crossett; two daughters, Reecie Loveless of Crossett and Earnestine Cronin of Cleveland, MS; a stepdaughter, Joan Parks of Bentonville; a sister, Inez Dollarhite of Longview, TX; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren and ten step-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were planned for 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 14, in the Jones Funeral Home chapel in Crossett with Revs. Jimmy Yokem and Randy Maxwell officiating. Pallbearers were to be Greg Cronin, Mike Cronin, Darrell Loveless, Denis Gates, Burl Toler and Marion Beech. Honorary pallbearers were to be Mitchell Day, Utah Daniels, Leslie Carter, Nathaniel Reed, Howard Gates, George McKenzie and Normie Lee. Burial was to follow services at Pinewood Memorial Park, directed by Jones Funeral Home of Crossett.
