Velna "Ginny" Batliner went to be with the Lord Sept. 8, 2005. She was born Sept. 19, 1942, to the late Junius J. and Velna Burkhead. She was an active member of Victory Life Church, a graduate of the Victory Life Church and a graduate of the Victory Life Church Bible College. Ginny, as she was known by family and friends, was an exceptional hard worker and a person of great faith. Ginny was the founder, owner and chief baker of Ginny’s Cheesecake Co. which operated for 13 years. Ginny’s Cheesecake Co. supplied scrumptious cakes and treats for Ukrops Supermarkets, Kings Dominion theme park and many other Richmond area restaurants. Her products were of such quality, that she supplied cheesecakes to the White House during the administration of the late President Ronald Reagan.
