Don was united in marriage to Christine McConnell on December 14, 1954 in Greenfield, Missouri.
Don was graduate of Greenfield High and he proudly served his country in the US Navy for four years. He worked as an iron and construction worker over the years and had also been employed by Pennington Seed Company. He was also a farmer.
Preceding him in death are his parents; five brothers, Everett, Floyd, Leroy, Charles Howard, and Melvin Dickerson; and two sisters, Helen Chappel and Marjorie Dickerson.
Survivors include his wife, Christine, of the home; his son, Michael Ray Dickerson of Ozark, Missouri; his daughter, Lynette (Dickerson) Ammel of Paola, Kansas; two grandchildren, Shanta and Joseph; five step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2005 with Pastor Joe Hampton officiating and full military honors conducted by the Greenfield American Legion Post #47.
