Carolyn C. Bachorz, 105, passed away on Monday January 1, at the Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation in Hoosick Falls. She resided on Richmond Avenue and was the wife of Francis "Mike" Bachorz who died in 1994.
Carolyn was born on June 2, 1918, in Portage, PA, daughter of Albert and Jadviga (Wojtaszek) Garbacz. She worked at several manufacturing plants including Eagle Square, the Millstone Undergarment and retired from Union Carbide in 1983. She and her husband operated the Hoosick Falls Country Club for many years. Carolyn was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church and a former member of the Catholic Daughters of America and the Hoosick Falls Elks Auxiliary. She enjoyed crafts including knitting, quilting, and painting.
Survivors include her son, granddaughters, great grandchildren and daughter-in-law. She was predeceased by her sons Walter and Paul Bachorz, three sisters and a brother.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday January 5, at 11:00 am, from the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY. Burial will follow the mass at St. Mary's Cemetery in Hoosick Falls. Arrangements are under the care of the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY.
Memorial contributions may be made to either the Immaculate Conception Church or the Food Pantry in Hoosick Falls through the funeral home.
