Francis M. "Duke" Glasgow, of Rootstown, Portage county, Ohio, died Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at the Gardens of Western Reserve at Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio at age 97. He was born December 22, 1913 in Akron the son of John W. and Neva (Brown) Glasgow. He was predeceased by 3 wives:

Mabel (Felton) Glasgow born Dec 24, 1914 in Ohio, died May 7, 1990 in Robinson Memorial Hospital, Ravenna at age 75; she attended 2 years of college.

"Duke" married again at age 76, Ethel Thelma BASSE (BOONE) on Jan 12, 1991 in Portage co, OH. She was 69 and had been married twice. She was born Dec 12, 1921 in OH, the daughter of Melvin W. Boone and Edna Clouser and she died July 3, 1991 at St Thomas Hospital Medical Center in Akron at age 69. Ethel's husband, Albert S. BASSE born April 19, 1915 in Ohio, died April 6, 1990 at Aultman Hospital, Canton, OH at age 74. Ethel had married at age 21, Carlin Geo. Bass, a divorced bus driver age 41, on Dec 12, 1942 in Summit co, OH. He was born Dec. 16, 1901 in Chattanooga, TN, the son of George W. BASS and Lela T. Strickland. They divorced in 1946 and he married in 1948, Thelma Irene WATSON.

"Duke" married at age 78, his 3rd wife, Gladys Irene (Clapp) Reynolds-Glasgow on Oct 25, 1992 in Portage co, OH. She was a 66 year old widow, born July 19, 1926 in Kent, Ohio, the daughter of Cecil and Mildred CLAPP. She died Thursday, April 24, 2008 at home in Rootstown, Ohio at age 81; well known for her baking. Her first husband, Victor Donald "Vic" Reynolds, born Aug 15, 1921 in Ohio, died Sept 25, 1989 at home in Ravenna at age 68.

"Duke" GLASGOW worked for Firestone, retiring in 1976. He was a member, certified Lay Speaker and chairman of various committees at Faith United Methodist Church in Brimfield. He also was Akron District Lay Leader, East Ohio conference Lay Leader, Lay Member to East Ohio Annual Conference 40+ years. He was a member of the Board of Trustees for Copeland Oaks Retirement Community in Sebring, Ohio. He was also a member of the BlueLodge #187, F&AM Rockton #316, Olive Lodge both of Kent, Cuyahoga Falls Chapter #225, Akron Council #80, Cuyahoga Falls Commandry, Tadmor Shrine, where he was Chaplain for 10 years, and was a Member of Valley of Akron, Scottish Rite.
