His mother, Thelma, was the first born of Garland Davis and Nova Lutz. In 1928 she married Marion Humphrey. They had 2 children, Lowell in 1929 and Mary Lou 1931. After divorcing Marion, she married Harold Gantz in 1934. They had a daughter, Barbara, in 1936. Thelma died during childbirth, April 20, 1938 in Alliance, Ohio
In 1950 Lowell enlisted in the US Navy and in 1952 he moved to submarines and served in Korea. He was a member of Zephyr Christian Church and the Elks Club of Zephyrhills, Fl.

LOWELL'S FATHER: Marion W. "Red" Humphreys was born May 9, 1908 in Hanover twp, OH, the son of Walter Humphreys and Eva Alberta Anglemyer. He died Nov. 10, 1970 in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. at age 62, formerly of Booth Rd., Kirtland, OH. His 2nd wife, Dorothy (nee RISHER) was born Jan 22, 1911 in Ohio, the daughter of Clyde and Stella RISHER. She died Oct. 6, 1963 at home in Willowick, Lake county, Ohio at age 52 and was buried in Fairmount Memorial Park, Alliance, Ohio with her parents. His 3rd wife, Addie (nee Kozely) died Aug. 10, 2005 in a Euclid, Ohio nursing home at age 95 and was buried in All Souls Cemetery, Chardon, Ohio.
Lowell's memorial service was Saturday, May 21, 2011 at First Christian Church, 6040 8th St., Zephyrhills, FL, arrangements by Whitfield Funeral Home.
