Old and Highly Respected Citizen Passed Away This Morning at the Hour of Four.

This morning at 4 o'clock Mr. J. W. K. Bryan died at the family home in this city, after a lingering illness from old age, and the funeral will take place from the Presbyterian church at 11 a.m. tomorrow, with interment in the Old Cemetery.

Mr. Bryan was 80 year so age, was an elder in the Presbyterian church, and in point of membership was its oldest member. He came to Texas from Alabama in 1851, and had lived at Palestine and in the vicinity of Palestine continuously ever since except the time he served in the Confederate army, volunteering from this city. For a number of years, and up to a few years ago, he was associated with the Silliman Hardware company, and retired because of old age. He was a good man, and universally liked.

He leaves a wife, son, and other relatives to mourn his loss.
