Sheryl Lynn Rice, 55

May 7, 1958 – Sept. 1, 2013

Sheryl Lynn Rice, 55, of Bloomington, passed away at IU Health Bloomington Hospice House on Sunday, September 1, 2013.

Sheryl was born on May 7, 1958, in Bloomington to Donald W. and Wanda Y. (Robert) Hays. She retired from the Kroger at Seminary Square after working in many different departments for over 24 years. Sheryl attended the Church of God of the Prophecy in Howesville. She was a member of the Monroe Co. Saddle Club. Sheryl enjoyed singing and traveling, always experiencing new adventures. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, spending time with them whenever she could.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Wanda Hays, in Feb. 1996.

Sheryl is survived by her father, Donald W. Hays of Bloomington; one daughter of Bloomington and one daughter of Ellettsville; four grandchildren; one brother and two sisters of Bloomington and a brother of Owensburg, IN; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be held at Clear Creek Cemetery on Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at 2 p.m. Friends may visit with the family at the cemetery from 1 until the time of services. Chandler Funeral Home is assisting with arrangments.
