Joseph Raymond Kendall, 77,
of Foxville, Md., died Sunday at the Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown, Md., following a brief illness.

Born in Frederick County he was the son of the late Joseph and Ester (Smith) Kendall.

Mr. Kendall was employed by the International Harvester Company of Springfield, Ohio until his retirement in 1956, when he returned to Foxville, Md.

Surviving are his wife, Haven P. (Lewis) Kendall of Foxville, Md., six daughters; Mrs. Mary Hartman of Santa Susana, California; and Mrs. Charlotte Kennedy, Miss Violet Kendall, Mrs. Pauline Fatzinger, Mrs. Dale Rigle, and Mrs. Annabelle Dugan, all of Springfield, Ohio., four sons Curtis Kendall of Middletown; Donald Kendall of Lewistown; Joseph Kendall of Springfield, Ohio; and George Kendall of Saron, Pa; one brother, Clyde Kendall of Foxville, Md.; and two sisters, Mrs. Henry R. Smith of Lantz, Md., and Mrs. Beulah McAfee of York, Pa. A number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.

Friends may call at the Creager Funeral Home in Thurmont, Md., after 7 p.m. tonight.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Mount Bethel Methodist Church in Foxville, Md. Burial will be in the Mount Bethel Cemetery.
