VERNON (Special) - Private graveside services for Jack Paul Eakle, 90, of Lubbock will be Wednesday in Eastview Memorial Cemetery in Vernon with the Rev. Darrell Patterson, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Vernon, officiating.

Burial will be under direction of Franklin-Bartley Funeral Home of Lubbock.

Eakle died Monday, April 20, 1998, in Lubbock Health Care Center.

He was born June 18, 1907, in Vernon. He graduated from Vernon High School and attended Texas Tech University. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Men's Rafters Sunday School Class. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He worked at Hemphill Wells in the shoe department for 20 years.

Survivors include three nieces and two nephews.

The family suggests memorials to Family Hospice, 7606 University, Lubbock 79423.
