DANIEL HAROLD CHATFIELD:
Dubuquer, 20, Killed in Vietnam.
Army Spec. 4/c Daniel Harold Chatfield, 20, son of the late Harold Chatfield and Mrs. Herman Buttifofer, 2099 Elm St., died in an evacuation hospital in South Vietnam on May 16 as a result of wounds received in combat a few hours earlier.

His mother was informed of his death Sunday. He had entered military service in September, 1966, and had been with an armored division in Vietnam since September 1967.

Services will be announced by the Strueber Funeral Home. Chatfield was a graduate of Sacred Heart Parochial School and Dubuque Senior High School, and was a member of the Sacred Heart Parish Holy Name Society.

Surviving in addition to his mother are three sisters, Mrs. Joseph (Donna Mae) Morin, Rocky Hill, Conn., Mrs. Mark (Darlene) Burds, Dubuque, and Mrs. Robert (Diana) Sobotka, Marion, Ia; five brothers, Dennis Chatfield, Des Moines, Ia., Dale and David Chatfield, Dubuque, and Darrel and Douglas Buttikofer, Dubuque.

Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Church for Spec. 4 Daniel H. Chatfield, 20, of 2099 Elm St., who died May 16 in an evacuation hospital in South Vietnam as a result of wounds received in combat a few hours earlier.

Friends may call after 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Strueber Funeral Home, where the parish Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Herbert L. Tegeler will sing the Requiem Mass. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cem.

Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Mildred M. Buttikofer and his stepfather, Herman Buttikofer, both of Dubuque; three sisters, Mrs. Joseph (Donna Mae) Morin of Rocky Hill, Conn., Mrs. Mark (Darlene) Burds of Dubuque, and Mrs. Robert (Diana) Sobotka of Marion, Ia.; five brothers, Dennis Chatfield of Des Moines, Dale and David Chatfield and Darrell and Douglas Buttikofer, all of Dubuque.
