Evelan was born August 3, 1907, the second of five children, to August and Julia (Lahey) Barenscheer. She grew up and was educated in Churchs Ferry, ND. Evelan married Cornelius "Con" Beiers on August 27, 1931 in Jamestown, ND. They lived in Fargo then moved to Langdon in 1938 where they owned Langdon Heating and Appliance for 30 years. Con passed away in 1990. Evelan was currently living at Maple Manor Care Center.
Evelan was an active member of the Langdon community. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and Eastern Star.
Surviving Evelan are her children: Gerald (Barbara) of Princeton, MN, Jan (Iin) of Apple Valley, MN, Marlys Siegel of Walnut Creek, CA; eleven grandchildren: Kristen, John, Mary, Leslie, Lisa, Beth, Kerri, Kim, Kris, Gene, Jerry; and 25 great-grandchildren.
Evelan is preceded in death by her parents, husband Con, son Gene, two brothers, two sisters, and son-in-law Jerry Siegel.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at United Methodist Church. Visitation will take place for one hour prior to the service at the church.
