Clifford "Doc" Rollins died Aug. 26, 2013 at his residence in Palm City, FL.

He was born April 11, 1931 in Buckhannon, WV, where he was also raised.

He graduated from Buckhannon Upshur High School and went on to attend West Virginia Wesleyan College, where he received his bachelor's degree. He completed his master's at Florida Atlantic, and doctorate at West Virginia University.

He worked in the Martin County School System until 1993, where he held several different positions as a teacher, principal and assistant superintendent before retirement.

He taught and coached at Liberty Union in Baltimore, OH and was a college professor at West Virginia Weslyan College in Buckhannon. He spent a total of 37 years as an educator.

He was a past president of the Boys and Girls Club and was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Elks Lodge and Kiwanis Club. He enjoyed fishing and other outdoor recreations.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jo Douglas.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Betty; daughter, Becky Hinkle of Buckhannon; sons, Jim and his wife Mary of Stuart FL and Tim Rawlins of Bellington, WV; brother, John Rollins; sister, Linda Coyner of Buckhannon; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Clifford loved his family as well as all he came in contact with.

A visitation and a gathering of family and friends will be held from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, at Martin Funeral Home & Crematory in Stuart.

Funeral arrangements will take place at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home in Buckhannon, where burial will also take place.

A funeral service will be held 1 PM Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. J. Edward McDaniels officiating.

Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon.
