US Army - WWII
Longtime operations supervisor in steam generation for So. Calif. Edison Co. at Alamitos Plant, Long Beach, Ca. Louis served many years as first line supervision, 'Watch Engineer'; knowledgeable, professional, fair, well liked, and a good man to work for.
When the Company called for power from the retired Long beach facility on many summers, Baglietto was often pressed to oversee the old plant run on twelve hour shifts for a week, with a rag-tag crew of 'qualified' employees. His stories got even more elaborate on these occasions. One time about ten old gauges in the boiler room magically had their brass bezels polished to gleaming perfection! Louis could never find the culprit(s), but he was pleased and thanked everyone who denied it.
It was once decided to somehow officially procure eight lockers from the Long Beach plant for the Alamitos 1&2 control room, but the paperwork involved in inter-station transfer became a nightmare. So - - one weekend, Louis (with help from nameless others) stole them.
An aviation enthusiast and collector of vintage automobiles. Participant in numerous 'Long Beach Hill Climb' events on 'Airplane Hill' - Hill St. (city of Signal Hill).
