Winifred A. PILGER WERLEY (nee ZIMMERMAN) of Lorain, Ohio, died May 11, 2010 at age 90. She was born November 28, 1919 in Ravenna, Ohio, the daughter of Fred A. ZIMMERMAN and Minnie M. HAWLEY ZIMMERMAN (JONES). Her first husband Frank Joseph Pilger of 5723 Behrwald Ave., Cleveland, died Wednesday, Jan 26, 1955. Her second husband Franklyn Grover Werley born July 20, 1913, died Aug 7, 1988 at home in Lorain at age 75.

Winifred had lived in Cleveland, Lakewood, and Brooklyn, Ohio before moving to Lorain in 1961. She attended John Adams High School and Jane Adams School of Practical Nursing in Cleveland. She worked at Evangelical Deaconess Hospital in Cleveland as a Graduate Practical Nurse and retired in 1961 when she married Franklyn Werley and moved to Lorain.

Winifred was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Lorain and it's Coffee Hour Group. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Ellbrook Chapter #408 and the former Lake Erie Shrine #47 of the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem where she held several Supreme Shrine appointments and served as district Deputy of Shrines in Elyria, Lorain, Lakewood, and North Olmsted. She was a life member of the Louis Paul Proy Chapter #20 of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary in Lorain. She was also a member of the Lorain Community Senior Center, Lorain Lighthouse Chapter #399 of the A.A.R.P., and the Salvation Army Keenagers. From 1984 to 2003 she was a member of the Retired Senior and Volunteer Program (R.S.V.P.). She also enjoyed crafts & crocheting.

Cross died Sept 12, 1987 in Orange county, Calif. at age 77.
* Mrs Jeannette "Jean" F. (Edward) PILGER (nee HAWLEY) born Jan 27, 1915 in OH, March 1983 of Ravenna and was buried in Grandview Memorial Park with her husband.
