Vassie migrated from Alabama to Florida at an early age. All her children where born in Florida. She lived in DeFuniak Springs while married and after her husband died in 1940 she moved with the family to Pensacola. She lived there mostly on Chase Street until moving back to DeFuniak around 1953. She died at her daughter Edith`s house in 1955 of a heart condition.
