Meda Catherine Oswald, 89,
of Wolfsville Rd., Smithsburg, Md., died Saturday, October 23, 2004, at Reeders Memorial Home in Boonsboro, Md.

Born June 6, 1915, in Garfield, Md., she was the daughter of Chester Calvin and Bessie Hanna (Draper) Kuhn.

Her husband, Lester L. Oswald died in 1983.

She was employed by Cavetown Cannery for 10 years.

She was a member of Mount Bethel United Methodist Church in Foxville, Md.

She is survived by one daughter, Jane L. Kline of Smithsburg, Md.; two sons, George N. Oswald Sr. of Cavetown, Md., and Lester E. Oswald of Smithsburg, Md.; one brother, Basil H. Kuhn of Smithsburg, Md., seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by six sisters, Beulah Cline, Hilda Kline, Mildred Wolfe, Margaret Lewis, Irma Lewis and Ceietta Smith, and five brothers, Mark Kuhn, Bernard Kuhn, Chester J. Kuhn, Ralph Kuhn and Robert Kuhn.

Services will be at J. L. Davis Funeral Home of Smithsburg, Wednesday October 27, 2004 at 1:00 P.M. Pastor S. Dewight Morgan will officiate. Burial will be in the Smithsburg Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7-9p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Reeders Memorial Home, 141 S. Main St, Boonsboro MD 21713
