Worked for Kaiser Hospital Fontana 32 years, 27 in ER. Died quietly in Yachats, OR, on November 16, 2008. Preceded in death by her father, William C. Blough I; and her daughter, Melinda Lee Shields Estes. She is survived by her son John Richard (Rick) Shields II, husband of 26 years Wayne W. Alexander, mother Oma Blough, brother William C Blough II, sisters Nancy Schile, Janet Troughton and Kalita Ullman, step-son's Victor Alexander, Nicholas Alexander and many nieces and nephews. .
