Paul grew up in Lawrence, KS, from 1981 to 1987. He spent Junior High and Senior High in St. Petersburg, FL, where he graduated from Lakewood High School in 1992. He joined the United States Navy in 1994. Paul died in Nevada while on active duty with the Navy. A memorial tree was planted in his honor outside the Miltary Science Building at the University of Kansas in Lawrence in October of 1997.
